Restoring grill shell questions

So I'm redoing my grill shell. I've got it all stripped and sanded my question is what to use to seal it once it's all done clear coat or some sort of aluminum sealer? Also has anyone done the Chevrolet letters in white? I have a white roof and I'm curious if it would look good

Re: Restoring grill shell questions

What year is this grill?

Outer grill I assume?

*I have "restored" my 1972 grill and it looks pretty good.

It's a 70. Ya it's the outer grill shell. What did u use to seal it? I've spent 2 days in it so far and don't want all my hard work to go to waist

Re: Restoring grill shell questions

From what I've read clear coat is an alternative to anodized metal.

Re: Restoring grill shell questions

Will the polish make it to where the clear coat won't stick though? Or will me just rubbing it down with acetone be fine?
