ok pulled the glove box to get to the resisitor and heater switch ....removed both and they both look look the springs are fine and .... on the heater harness there is a brown (ground) wire that i traced back to a bundle by my instrument panel .... where does this ground end so ica n check it ......
does the fan switch have a bushing to keep it from falling off ??? im sick of this and i wanna get to the bottom of it before hell freezes over in Oregon

This looks like a reply but I couldn't find the original message. Are you trying to fix an air flow
problem, or just having cold air blow? If it is just cold air, make sure you don't have a closed valve in the heater line going to the core. Just a thought.

turns out i need a fuse in both the air cond slot and 1 in the heater fan slot .... i removed the air on becuase i figured it was unneeded.... I CAN CONTROL THE FAN FROM THE CAB NOW !!!! :p .... plus i got a higher powered air cab heater fan .... im still gonna replace the fran switch when it gets here ..... the fan doesn't start moving til the slider is over halfway over ...is this common ..i also have resisitor and a new heater harness too .....
anyone know a good place to get air ducting ...2.5 inch for the defroster .... i'll check lowe's and see just thought i'd update peace ![]()

On your switch, is there a plastic bushing on it where it attaches to the lever for the fan? If not then I would say that is the problem.

Then I would say that is why your switch doesn't work until halfway across the panel!! Bad part I don't think that the new switch will come with a bushing, but I know that the heater rebuild kit does. You might be able to ask one of the parts dealers or someone on the board for just the bushing.

Hopefully this will show the pic. See the white plastic bushing? Thats your guy! I'm sorry about not finding a better one with a more close up pic but this is all I could find maybe this will give you a rough idea.

Yeah, it slides over the pin on the switch and then into the lever. You might try GMC Paul or WES, or MOTHERTRUCKER , and see if you could get just the bushing. Or if you have the money just order the rebuild kit. I got one for mine, I really like it unbreakable steel levers to do away with the pot metal ones!!

Those places, Chevy Duty, LMC, etc. Also get your duct hose through them, I doubt you would find it at Lowe's. Your local parts places should either stock it or be able to get it quickly also.
