53 Buick headlights,49 Merc taillights

Learned something kinda cool yesterday. You can run 53-54 Buick headlights in your bucket holes with no bodywork (very small gap at outside bottom) by trimming about an inch out of the bottom of your bucket openings and running them at a tilt. Straight up and down requires some bodywork on outside of fender.

And apparently 49 Merc taillights fit the curvature of the back fenders pretty much perfect.

SgtUSMC use the buick lights on his AD. Merc lights are a good idea too and might even be repoped.

always liked the look of those headlights ---didnt know about the tailights --- looks like a clean fit ..........good lookin truck !

That gives it a real mid/late 50's custom look. I can find 49/50 Merc tail light lenses but no repro housings so far.

I figured I'd go by my old country honey hole junkyard and try my luck

if they do have a 53 buick i need the grill surround! the part that is above the grill that had "Buick" embossed on it.

I'll check 'er out for ya...54 the same on that ?

...in the meantime I have one that says GMC on it we could make work
