Anybody using the Hooker exhaust kit with stock manifolds?

I'm looking at the 16621HKR kit that is specifically for long wheel base 2wd pickups.

I'm looking for reviews on how it was to install and quality. It seems like a decent price for what it is.

Re: Anybody using the Hooker exhaust kit with stock manifolds?

I bought that kit through Summit. I wasn't happy with it at all. The down pipes coming off the stock manifolds had incorrect bends and would either hit the starter or angle towards the floor. Also the mufflers have to be welded to the pipes as they don't have a slip fit capability. I called Summit with my complaint and they paid for return shipping.

I have that system on mine. Not as nice as some muffler shops installs but its ok for a driver.

Re: Anybody using the Hooker exhaust kit with stock manifolds?

just wanted to update my review on this hooker system. when i installed it last year i was under the truck and it just didnt fit right. i did a body off restoration on it this year and with the body off looking down it all went together real nice and i used the hooker mufflers. sounds real good. a ole timer told me that i didnt have my tongue in the right position the first time. just didnt want to leave a bad review for some thing that does work. and that is with c notch. under 300.00 2.5 inch
