Front Upper Control Arm Studs (removal)
So I'm guessing to remove these... just a BFH (with a little hand eye coordination) and a pair of safety glasses...

Re: Front Upper Control Arm Studs (removal)
Good question - a press would be the best way, but good luck getting that setup!
Do you have access on the backside to drive the new ones in? I'd be hestitant trying to pull them in with the threads.

Re: Front Upper Control Arm Studs (removal)
Yep... there are holes in the frame just behind the studs to drive these out and new ones in.
These still have threads on them, but there was so much hardened grease, rust, and undercoating on them, the nuts damaged the threads a bit when I removed them. Tried cleaning all that crap off of there the best I could, but the threads still got bungled up a bit. So I have new studs. Just don't wanna screw something up. So whenever a job comes up I've never attempted before, I always ask here first. Gary

Re: Front Upper Control Arm Studs (removal)
LOL!
If I bend or screw up the mount, I have another set on the 1972 frame I can use. Hopefully I wouldn't screw that one up too! Gary

Re: Front Upper Control Arm Studs (removal)
I'd start with a big damn C-clamp. That would be nice and controllable without flailing hammers. As I get older I tend to try other things before resorting to the hammer.
