Oh, tilt indicators. I thought they were just regular. Wierd that they would be opposite for a non tilt.

Hey Rod,
Those are correct for '71-'72 tilts, (top) but not having one handy, (or really paying all that much attention when I did), aren't '69-'70 tilt indicators different yet? If so, any pics? Thanks, Mike

Yeah, I had heard '70, but then again, a few guys have told me that their '69's were original with tilt. I had some '70 tilts in years past, but never paid much attention to the indicators.
I knew the standard '70 non-tilt auto columns had the chrome metal indicators. Just wondered if anyone had a pic to post. Mike

Are you sure Longhorn? A friend of mine, his dad had a 1966 Chevy with tilt and said that his dad's 1963 had tilt. They both had gotten them new.

I also had a glovebox door off of a 1969 Blazer that had ComforTilt Steering listed as an option, it also listed the colors as orange with a Black top, kinda odd colors Huh?

Hey Andy,
I was wondering, do you have any documentation for '69 tilts? I keep meaning to get a '69 "Restoration Pack" from GM, but just haven't yet! Last discussion I had on this topic with a few of the guys, the upshot was, tilt was available in '69, but didn't show up on the order form. Possibly a mid to late year offering? Black and Blue: LOL!! Around here, in the mid 60's, well to do farmers started keeping "last years" 3/4 Ton workhorses for farm duty, and ordering new high option 1/2 tons for "light duty" (light duty usually consisted of crusing the countryside at a brisk 2 MPH, watching the corn grow!! Ha,Ha!) Tilt steering was kinda new, even in the cars back then, and never offered in the truck line till '69? or '70. Anyway, a fella that worked at the local Chevy dealership here started doing evening and weekend mods to these new trucks. Mudflaps, two-tones, bed rails, hang on A/C, etc. He even put a tilt in his own ride, (a '66) and soon had orders for more. Probably 2 dozen trucks, I guess. I finally ended up as 5Th, 6Th owner of one of these "sweet" trucks in the mid '80's. Turns out the columns were from early Impalas, like '63-'64. They really looked factory with the truck wheel! Mike
