250 Carburetor Vacuum Port ??

What it the fitting I need for the vacuum advance line where it hooks to the carburetor? 66 C10 250 Engine with Single Barrel Rochester.

When I purchased my truck the PO had a new carb in a package but no fitting for the vacuum advance line. Is that a standard type fitting or is it a special fitting that I need to find.

Also the new carb seems to be leaking between the float bowl and the base. Any Ideas?

It's my experience that you have to take the fitting off the old carb and transfer it to the new one. I believe the side that goes to the distributor is tubing, and the side that goes into the carb is pipe thread, although it could be fine thread, like a bolt.

You may be able to find a replacement in an auto parts store, or on ebay. You might be able to match something up in a hardware store as well. If you knew the exact sizes, you could probably order one from McMaster as well.

Hope this helps, there is a metal line that wraps around the front of the valve cover from the vac advance to the side of the throttle body. I've tried to highlight it in these pictures. This is a 250 with the Rochester Single barrel. I no longer have it though so pictures are all I can provide

Re: 250 Carburetor Vacuum Port ??

Thanks for the picture. Mine has what looks like a compression fitting and some sort of flare on the line. When I purchased the truck I got a new carb in a package with the truck but not the old carb so I don't have the fitting that goes into the carb itself. Just not sure of the thread size or the tube size. I guess if I have to i could get a barb fitting and a piece of hose.
I will try and post a picture tomorrow.

Re: 250 Carburetor Vacuum Port ??

When I put my correct carb on my 250, I ended up buying a new compression fitting. Had to cut the line to install the new ferrule and such but it worked like a champ!
