TCS and EEC routing

Currently my TCS is bypassed. I would like to connect as original. Can anyone tell me if the vacuum source is the carb, on passenger side, behind choke? Also the carb line of the fuel canister is disconnected and I do not know where it goes.

I am hoping to get these two items back to factory. Ive looked as some assembly pages but am not finding any clarity.

Re: TCS and EEC routing

Sill looking. Trying to locate the factory vacuum sources for:
1. The air cleaner thermac.
2. The carb line to the Evap Canister
3. The source side of the TCS

Re: TCS and EEC routing

Here are a couple of pictures to show you how mine was routed. I can get you some pictures from the cannister side as well if you need them.

Re: TCS and EEC routing

Awesome, thanks dfwright. Exactly what I was looking for. I am good at the canister end, everything is in place there. The "carb" line was cut and plugged about where your t fitting is.

Also, the yellow circle, I assume goes up to the air cleaner? And the turquoise circle, can you tell me if there is a line there from the back of the TCS switch? I am unclear if there is just supposed to be a filter there, or a line running up somewhere somewhere. Mine currently has a short line on it but that may be there only to shunt it to the other two fittings (bypassed essentially).

Re: TCS and EEC routing

The aqua circle is where the electrical wire from the TCS relay connects. I'll see if I can dig up a picture. You are correct that the yellow circled port goes to the air cleaner. Here's a shot of that.

Re: TCS and EEC routing

Great, thank you. I think there is an air fitting back there next to the electrical connection as well.

Re: TCS and EEC routing

Well, it looks like I may not be able to help you out on the front side of the switch there. I didn't have any cable hooked up to mine when I took my pictures before deconstruction.

Re: TCS and EEC routing

Ill finish this post out in case it comes up again. The following is based upon several days of research and reading anything I could find out about it.

The pictures from dfwright appear correct for the source of vacuum to the solenoid, and from the solenoid to the distributor. The other port (on the electrical connector side) should simply have a little foam filter surrounding the metal port.

Ill try to confirm this when I run across a true survivor.

Download both the 71 and 72 factory service manuals to get more than just where they plug in. This will give you a well rounded knowledge of the systems and operation.

I had done that already. Thought it was interesting, and thats the main reason I came to the conclusion about the filter being on the end versus another vacuum line running who knows where.

I could not find anything in the assembly manual, as it was probably already installed on the engine before final assembly.
