It mounts on the right side by the battery and uses the bolts for the fender to core support brackets.

Can this be used to convert from vented gas cap to sealed cap on a 1970? Do you know what else is needed?

I do not think you can use only the charcoal canister to make that conversion, but I am not positive. Is your gas tank vented?

Tank is not vented. I don't know if the tank can be converted with a sending unit/fuel pickup assembly, or if it requires a different tank.

My tank had a vent on the top right (passenger) side that ran up over the rear window to the left side. I would take pics but I don't have the cab anymore. I can take pics of the tank if you want. I believe the sending unit did have a provision for an extra line also.
