Throwout bearing size.

Trying to get the last of my parts together to install motor and trans in the frame. 62 c/10 ,350 SB, factory bell housing with hydraulic clutch, Saginaw car 4 speed trans. Which length throwout bearing do I need, or is that dependant on the clutch set itself? It is also a 1 piece rear main seal block if that matters.

When I swapped out my 3 speed Saginaw and put in my M21 I reused the stock throwout bearing with all the stock bellhousing and linkages. I even utilized the stock style throwout bearing when I installed the Centerforce clutch in it now.
Short answer to your question - use the stock set up.

It has everything to do with the pressure plate. I say this because both me and my buddy have the same tranny - a T5. His pressure plate needed a tall release bearing but mine used a short style release bearing.

I thought it was most likely dependant on the pressure plate, but then again its been yrs since I messed with a manual. Looked up 62 c/10 with 283 and found a zoom kit with 11 in ,10 spline clutch disc. Hopefully in a few weeks, it will go together.
