A little interior lipstick job

Hey Guys,

Thought I'd just post a quick before and after of an interior lipstick job I did yesterday now that I got my leaks sorted out.

Put the floor back in with some new heat shielding and some new matts.

Changed out the mismatched and cracked door panels with some new ones from LMC also added a dash cover (Haven't siliconed it down yet)

All and all I think it's looking good. And as I am going for a daily and not a show truck I think it'll all suit me well.

Looks good. What dash cover did you use?

Everyone complains about the quality and fit of the dash covers. What are your thoughts? It looks just fine as best I can tell from the pics.

To be completely honest. The dash covers suck and are a waste of time and money. By the end of summer it will be warped and wavey.

My expectation was low on the dash cover. It's from LMC.

What I have experienced thus far is a completely different story. The cover fits exactly over the existing dash. I haven't siliconed it in yet but with about 5 mins of placement it is a perfect fit. You can't see any of the old dash underneath. I do plan on taking the trim and the console out when I silicone it in for a perfect fit. It looks much better than the stock dash which was faded and cracked everywhere.

So I guess what I am trying to say is: It looks nice and it fits way better than I anticipated. Is it as nice as a NOS dash? No. But it looks nicer than the dash in my new SUV (Solid black plastic) and my last truck: 07 Sierra (Also Plastic)

Will it last? Who knows. I am also in Vancouver and it doesn't really get all that hot or cold.

I'll post a bunch of detailed pictures when I get it mounted in this weekend.

A lot of us don't want a perfect concours show vehicle, we just have older trucks that we want to look decent. No point in me shelling out $500 on a NOS dash pad for a truck I drive 2-3 times per month. I'd just like to have something to cover up the cracks in the dash.

So I siliconed the LMC Dash cover in yesterday.

I started by trimming down the existing dash around the splits and cleaning it up a bit. I then applied the silicone in the areas on the instructions, and used the silicone sparingly. I then placed the dash cover on and pushed and tweaked it into place. I added rolled up paper to the dash seam to keep it down and put a bunch of weight on the top to hold it down.

I then used gorilla tape to hold the cover in areas where I needed it to be bent, most notably around the trim piece and the drop around the console.

Just took the weight and the tape off and here are the pics.

Again, It's not car show quality but it does look really great for what it cost and was relatively easy to install

I have no idea why the photos are all backwards and I cant seem to fix it.....

You need to rotate the pics in your photo editing software before posting them.
