Need help! 2000 GMC Sierra 4WD

Ok,
Trying to help a friend here. The truck has just over a 100k, 4wd doesn't work. Switch on the dash is new and was lighting up, now it's not. Further, the service 4wd light isn't on. No fuses are blown. There's 12v to the front actuactor. The encoder motor for the transfer case is new. Right now, I'm leaning towards the 4wd module in the dash. Anyone experience this, any help would be appreciated, thx.
