Re: How much would a 53 Chevy cab be worth?

I bought a complete 49 truck minus drivetrain for 2500. It needed a new cab and I found one on Craigslist for 300 and it was solid. Meanwhile, the price on these trucks is going up fast in my area. Just parts you probably have 800 or so with title probably over 1000. Don't take my word for it

Really depends on your area. I can buy a nearly rust free complete project in the $1000 range usually. Cabs - rusty are $150 in my area, mint $500+, mint fenders $100-200, mint hood $100, mint grille $100-200. Anything that is damaged isn't worth a ton.

Re: How much would a 53 Chevy cab be worth?

Here if doors are on cab and if as you described $400-500 but seems like cab only sell slow and here it doesn't seem to matter moneywise if its 3 window or 5 window thr than 5 might sell a little faster. Straight hood here $200 give or take $25. Front fenders $75 low to $150 high. Grill 75 to 200 depending on condition...really nice including chrome a bit more. Seems every part of country is a bit different.

If cab has plate and title that is a premium worth something.

So many selling their old parts with no real guidelines tho I see prices all over the place.

Guy down the road for me asking $1500 for complete sheetmetal in pretty nice shape..

Re: How much would a 53 Chevy cab be worth?

Just as in realestate ", location, location, Location means a lot on the price of AD trucks or AD truck parts. Also the total condition of the cab counts a lot as the guys up in the rust belt area pay more than we do out west for the same quality of cab.

Still if you have a decent cab with a clear title the clear title adds 25 to 50% to the value. If you have the title in your name with current registration and plates I'd say that was right at the 50% mark and a cab that might be worth 400 should be worth closer to 600. Being able to walk in and lay a good up to date title on the counter at where the buyer goes to change the title is worth a chunk to a lot of us.

Still detailed quality high resolution photos of all areas of the cab that guys can look at help the most as far as determining the real value.
