Whell Tubs
I am getting to the end of my build of my 1958 chevy short bed fleetside.I need to widen the rear wheel tubs by 9",I can do the work but it would be a lot.is there anywhere I could buy new wide tubs that look stock?

Re: Whell Tubs
lots of guys use trailer fenders. check a trailer supply outfit. some come filled in on one side and open on one side. worst case scenario you could fill one side in yourself and cut the lip off the other side where it would mount up to the box.

Re: Whell Tubs
a sheet metal shop should be able to bend you up a "U" shaped channel you could attach to your originals and that way you retain some strength over the extra wide tubs. it would also look like it was made like that and wouldn't have to be welded in at the joints because the "arms" of the U would become the attachment flange against the old tubs and the box sides so you wouldn't see themunless you looked up inside yhe wheel opening. would that work? screwed or rivetted together (or welded if you wanted).
