"New Member", Head swap advice?
Hola!
I've technically been a member for a few years, but never needed to post. So here we go... I've got a 67 Stepside that's been my rig since before I got my license. One of the things I did was install a GM Performance crate engine (Chevy 350/290 hp) 2 years ago. While it's currently capable of roasting the tires, I would like a few more ponies, and I plan on using a new set of heads to get them. It only has about 10k miles on the motor cause I spend over 9 months of the year walking to class. So I'm not really worried about the engine being worn out. My question is this, what would you recommend for a head swap? Currently I'm considering Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, GMPP Fast Burn Heads or maybe even a set of modified Vortec heads. I want something with a smaller combustion chamber (about 64 cc) to bring up the compression ratio. I was also thinking of using the stock cam, but I wanted your opinion on that too. Anyone with experience they can share? Cole
