Looking for opinions on what is more beneficial, a front or rear sway bar? Currently have a 3" drop in the front and 5" drop in the rear. Trying to eliminate some of the body roll to handle better in turns. All suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

both. bigger front than stock will help a lot and a rear will also help.

Front more than the back... but both would make it handle real nice...

Put the front one on first and see what you think! I don't think you will spend the money on the rear after you drive it unless your building a auto cross truck then you may want the rear too!

front is way more important , i could not believe it went i first found out my 67 came without one , i quickly acquired one , for vastly improved drive ability

The cheaper way out is to find one from a one ton truck and just buy the mounts and bushings... its a thick bar and will mount really easy..

Yes.. I found it from a member on here... little grinding and sanding and a couple coats of ceramic paint and its looks new. Got it for 50 bucks.. and found the mounting hardware for 35 on Ebay

You can use the front sway bar from any 73-87 Chev or GMC pickup. There are different sized front sway bars with the biggest being on the real heavy duty C20's and GMC 2500 with the 9000b + GVW rating. The biggest on the 73/87's trucks is the 1 1/4" front sway bar and once installed you will not believe the difference in handling. Seeing your truck is lowered you will want to get the front brackets for lowered trucks. Various vendors have them and I got mine from ECE in Fresno. The posted link is great showing the install process.

I used one off the front of another C10 for my 67 short , big difference . Which made me right away wonder why they didn't find it important enough to put them in from the start.

You'll notice the difference in a front sway bar in everyday driving. A rear... you'll have to "get into some corners" at higher speeds to really notice it. You probably won't notice a rear sway bar under every day driving conditions. At a track, yes.

I can't remember the size at the moment, but I put on the largest one, I think 1-1/4".

I bought a front end rebuikd kit and 4/6 drop kit from ECE. Decided to buy sway bars while I was at it. The front bar is from ECE (1 1/4") and the rear sway bar is from CPP (1 1/8"). After installing the drop and front end rebuild kits I had a ton of tire rub on the front inner fenders in all driving conditions. I first installed the front sway bar and drove it for a week. The tire rub was greatly reduced and handling was improved a good bit, nothing spectacular, but a helluva lot better. When I added the rear bar the tire rub was almost eliminated and now the long bed drives almost like it's on rails. For me, both sway bars together were a fantastic upgrade and would do it again in a heartbeat.
