Finally, found a 1970 K20 CST!! Road trip pics too

Went across the country to New Mexico with a buddy (forum member YE9longhorn30) and picked up a Custom Camper CST K20 and parts along the way!

This thread is a little overdue, but I finally had time to get the pics off my old phone. It took me years to find a true K20 authentic CST that was a color I was interested in and not sold before I could make contact with the owner. Thanks to SSTim, and DeadheadNM for finding this one on craigslist and helping me complete the transaction!! We came to find out it was actually owned by a forum member (Pete1957) but he wasn't aware of my WTB ads.

The body is kind of beat up but I have good sheetmetal stashed away for it. It has some options I really like, the No Spin, cab lights, AC, black interior, 350/4spd, Custom Camper. Planning to do a full factory resto on this one, and will divert my NOS parts stash to this one instead of the blue 72 K20. The truck is running real good now and I'm driving it (except in the winter). I will drive it a couple years and focus on the 72 K20 first.

I'll be uploading more pics over the next few days including some along parts of route 66

Great find! Where in New Mexico did you find it? Can't wait to see it take shape. Custom camper with marker lights, red dials, and a no spin. Don't get much better than that.

Red dials are the 70 only factory spicer hubs. They changed to blue for 71-72.

Its proof that good things come to those who are patient. There were a couple trucks before this one that I got excited about, only to find out they were sold, not authentic, or with a seller who wouldn't accommodate a distance deal. In the end, this is a better truck than those were

Its a little rougher than it looks (body wise) in the pics, but mechanically its pretty sound, just needs some shocks and some brake work possibly.

Yep, these are a little chewed, I'd love to find a NOS red set, if such a thing exists!

Re: Finally, found a 1970 K20 CST!! Road trip pics too

Day 1 of the trip.

I'm going to chronicle the trip restropectively a little, since that was half the fun, and we got to meet a few guys on this website.

Loaded up parts to deliver to other members of this forum along the way I can't find the loaded pic, but there was this frame (without the axles), a 4spd trans, core support, a radiator or two, a Rockwell T-221 and a couple other things.

After we dropped off the 4x4 frame with oldertruckfan (Eric) in the Kansas City area, we stopped and got awesome BBQ at the place below. Then we drove west and stayed in the middle of KS.
