Our future Project Truck

Here are the trucks that my sons and I are planning on starting on this summer, all of them run and drive except the 68( no motor or trans--looking for a 250 6 cylinder and a 3 speed for it--kid doesn't need a V8 yet). We also are very interested in any where we could find more of the channel iron bumpers for the other 2 step sides. Any ideas?

Re: Our future Project Truck

Thanks guys, glad I found the website, been looking around on it, off and on all weekend, lots of good info on here and some really nice trucks. I'm loving the build thread to be honest. Chattanooga is about 2.5 hrs from us--we are in Lafayette. I'm not sure this the best deal I've ever made with my kids, but I told them that I'd throw the money at the restores if they'd put in the elbow grease. Younger one sprayed an entire bottle of wd40 on the bolts and screws on the 68 this afternoon in preparation for the teardown.

Some neat trucks. I'd suggest keeping them running and driving projects , it makes it a lot more fun!! No matter what ,just the father son thing is worth it. Enjoy

Re: Our future Project Truck

I understand the father son thing well, I lost my dad to cancer in 2011 at 59 years old but before he went, we had a ball, he helped me build my plum crazy purple 67. we then got into dirt tracking, we had a blast and at the time I thought we were wasting a lot of money( so did my wife and her entire family), looking back, I'm not sure if it wasn't the best money I ever spent, here are some pics, the old truck was needing paint again by then. I'll see if I can find one of it after we first got it done. BTW a chevette was never made to race--hardest car I've ever seen to get to go around the track but it was better than just sitting in the pits between races, we ended up taking 4 cars on a lot of nights

Re: Our future Project Truck

Anybody got a guess what I plan to do to that old brown 69 long bed ( truck is called Earl from the high school teacher that let me have it for 700) --yep I'm gonna make it into a dirt tack modified but keep it street legal--kinda as a memorial to mine and my days racing days.
