Red seat info needed

One issue I've wanted to straighten out is what years and what trucks were red seats put in? Was it a gmc and Chevy option? Or was it just Chevrolet? Spoke with a. Guy with a few trucks and said his 66 gmc has a red seat but wasn't sure if they came factory with it or not. I know the early 60s had a little different design..but any info would be helpful

I know that 1963-65 chevy's could have the red seat and 1966 GMC and Chevy trucks had no red seats. I'm not sure on other years.

Re: Red seat info needed

To my knowledge it was 62-65 Chevrolet. I have seen examples from each of these years. GMC had a few seat color choices, unlike Chevy.
What I would like to know is if you could opt out of the red seat if you didn't want it? It supposedly was the given color for all red, white, or gray exterior paint trucks ordered with the Custom Comfort option.
Anybody got a factory deluxe FAWN seat in a 62-65 Chevy painted red, white, or gray?

Re: Red seat info needed

My 66 gmc has the fawn or grayish seat and its red and white. That's why I was wondering if red was an option in a gmc or not

Picked this up today out of a '65. The bottom part was just the springs though.
