Disc brake help
Ok so I did a rear disc conversion on my 78 k20. Everything fit very tight and the upper caliper slide pin on the passengers side is ever so slightly rubbing the rotor at one point in the rotation. Its probably less than a quarter of an inch where it just barely brushes against the pin. I have tried everything to fix it, even took the rotor off and re-pressed it on.
Question is this a big deal or am I freaking out about nothing? |

Is something bent? It sounds unusual that it's only rubbing at one point and not all the way around. Maybe a worped roter.

What kit did you put on? Sounds like something may have been cut wrong.

Well the kit was from lug nut 4x4 and it did require some modification on my part so it fits pretty tight. In addition the rotor may be off by a few millimeters but I pressed it on twice and didn't want to do it again. It's literally just brushing against the pin at one point on the rotor. I have a Dana 60 rear end, maybe I need a different bracket but I can't find one any where.

Not knowing much about your set up makes it hard to diagnose what your problem could be . I got the D60 axle and assume it is a full floater hub ? Couldn't a guy press the rotor on the hub and have the whole assembly trued ? Sounds like you are having a radial runout problem and possibly an axial one too ! I've done some disc brake swaps using GM 4x4 front calipers and the GM stamped steel caliper bracket , this on an early Ford Bronco as all the parts are Dana to begin with .
