1972 chevy LS-1 swap

I am currently doing a frame off 1972 chevy 4x4 blazer and installing a LS-1 engine and need to find out if anyone has done this and can you help with the exhaust manifolds?

Corvette manifolds I believe stay tighter to the engine. I've always just made headers to work

I think the tbss manifolds work. And I gonna watch your progress I'm going to be doing the same thing. What did you use for the cross member?

For Trans used the stock one and for the motor used the Pacific fab cross member!

Re: 1972 chevy LS-1 swap

I have pacesetter long tube headers for a TBSS and they hit my shackles so I have to have them modified. I think Doug Thorley makes a conversion header.

Re: 1972 chevy LS-1 swap

There's some 4x4 swap guys out there. I was going to use the TBSS manifolds on mine but put headers on instead. I'll sell them if you need them. You also need a special engine cross member unless you plan on fabbing one yourself. I got mine from Pacific Fabrication.

Re: 1972 chevy LS-1 swap

I have the TBSS factory manifolds. I ended up buying Doug Thorley headears. They were like 6 or 7 hundred bucks, I forget.

Re: 1972 chevy LS-1 swap

2010 + Camaro manifolds tuck tight to the block and are 2.5" at the collector.

Check out this thread and the LSx section in general....

I used 2012 Camaro manifolds. They fit like a glove.

Re: 1972 chevy LS-1 swap

I used TBSS manifolds, cut the flanges off, and welded some pipe to them to extend down under the truck, to V-bands

Re: 1972 chevy LS-1 swap

I bought the 323Y-C. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/dte-323y-c

I was able to use this shift linkage without any issues with them.
