Reworking Blackie (52 Chevy)
I bought this truck in 2011. I have always loved the look of them. This is what I start with.
1952 Chevy 3100. 305ci/th350, Malibu front Sub, Camaro rear(Picture of the day I bought it home. ![]() I didn't really care for the look of the visor so I removed it 2 days later. ![]() Drove it like this for about a year. Fast forward to 2012. Decided I wanted some different wheels ![]() ![]() Drove it everywhere. Love this truck. Fastforward again to 2015. I start thinking I wanted a better ride, brakes and different motor. Started on 2 of the 3. Took it to a guy for some frame work and new rear. Before Picture after wood was removed ![]() Started boxing frame and installing 4 bar. ![]() Finished at shop. Back home for paint, brakes, wiring, fuel tank, brake lines, etc ![]() Took it all apart to paint. ![]() Going back together ![]() New Gas Tank and center section arrived. ![]() ![]() Rear back together with Z51 C6 Brakes, Viking Coilovers, New 20x10 TT2s ![]() ![]() This is a picture from Yesterday when I pulled it out. In the front I did Viking Coilovers, Z51 C6 Brakes, 98up S10 Blazer spindles with sealed bearings, and 20X8 TT2s ![]() I will probably drive this way until next winter when I want to start the Motor swap......... |

Very nice work and your truck looks good! What brackets did you use for the Corvette brakes?

Re: Reworking Blackie (52 Chevy)
I like the visors on these trucks, and installed one on my TF. but I agree with your decision to remove that one. It looks like it is too long and blocks a lot of he windshield. After looking at the pic, could it be that it was just installed too far forward? Your truck looks great. I'm a little "old school" and liked the red wheels but it looks great with the new ones too.

Re: Reworking Blackie (52 Chevy)
I used Kore3 components in the rear. I actually started with c6 z06 brakes but had fitment issues. Decided to use Front c6 Z51 brakes for front and rear. I had to machine the rear bracket bosses to center. I also used a c6 z06 rear rotor for width reasons.
Rear tires are 275/35zr20 |
