Symptom of wore WARN manual locking hubs
Weather is changing to warmer and my plow truck is heading to the barn to rest until next winter. While unlocking the front driver side hub (1985 K20) I noticed the chrome hub portion had some play in and out. Eight screws are tight and no bearing or axel nut loose. Any ideas what might be the cause if if I need to worry about it? I repacked front bearings last fall and did not notice this looseness in the chrome cover of the manual hub. Thanks for any info

Re: Symptom of wore WARN manual locking hubs
You may have a broken spring inside the hub. I had troubles with mine not unlocking internally, even though I rotated fully. Ended up buying a new set. They were not overly expensive.

Re: Symptom of wore WARN manual locking hubs
mine actually made a noise when it broke like a small piece of metal striking something spinning like when a brake spring is rubbing a drum , Hes right mine cost like $80 for a set brand new
