cped exhaust seen in airbag pics...

cped,

So, do you have mufflers, glasspacks or nuthin' between your engine and those (what look to be HUGE) pipes sticking out up there ?!? WOW!

I know this is not a suspension question, but I figured you see this message here. Looks rather cool. Are you leaving it like that?

curious in northern cali

Exhaust is 2.5" off headers and come up to just behind cab under the box into some crappy Shucks Raptor mufflers. I had to whack the tailpipes off right at the axle so the truck would ride right as the exhaust was originally routed over the rear axle and out the back.

All of this will be changed soon. I am thinking of taking it off the headers and through the frame running it on the outside of the frame rails and all the way out the back. Guess I'll see as I get closer to that stage.

Anyone reading this, if you have any pictures of exhaust and how you ran it with rear air and or a blazer tank I would like to see how you did it.

Regards,
Chad

Yes, I'd like to see pics too. My current set-up is some old school glass packs, just outside the frame under the doors, then back and sorta "guess work" at getting the pipes routed out behind the rear wheels. One pipe is straight, one is crooked and both have messed up welds on them.

I plan on chopping them just past the bed this weekend and then re routing them in front of the rear wheels for a short term fix to clean things up. I want them headed straight out the back though and I'm not sure how to do it with a 4.5" rear drop.

Pix would be great.

I am running full air-suspension on my truck, Rear Fuel Cell, and have a full exhaust that consists of Full-Length Headers, 2.5" Pipe and Flowmaster 4 series mufflers. I dont have the bed off the truck now, but heres a few pics that I have. The pipes are still ran above the rear axle and exit on each side behind the tires with turnouts.

Thanks! Nice work. Do the arms "nudge" the pipes up front at all?

Nothing rubs on the exhaust with the new suspension. I just had to bend the left side right above the pumpkin sightly because it hit the panhard-bar bolt.

That works great if it's not knotched...
But as soon as you kcotch the frame you will have to do something else... Most setups that I see are turndowns at the muffler, or they run it out the side, but if you go really low, it's hard if not impossible to do....
I have been trying to figuer out how to run the exaust on my Blazer, and still have no clue, I think i'll send ti down to the exaust shop and have someone else stare at it with me for some ideas when it's ready....

If you get someone that knows what they are doing, it can be done. I have true duals on my 82 2wd Blazer, that is bagged, notched, and 4 linked.

It ain't easy, but it can be done....

I haven't completely decided on tire and wheel combo yet, but I was looking/thinking that I might try to run a 90 off the full length headers through the frame using a three bolt flange and then running exhaust along the outside of the frame rails with the mufflers positioned just before the rear axle and run the tailpipes up as close to the bed floor and frame rail to allow clearance between the pipe and the tires. could also use heat shielding on the pipes where the pass by the rear tires and then have the pipes dump out at the rear corners of the bed.

Would that work? I think ECE has billet thru-frame/x-member exhuast hangers. Seems like Trucks used them on Project Copperhead.
