Someone asked me that question one evening at a So-Cal Speed open house. My response was this.
From the factory my 350 had a whopping 165 "flywheel" hp. The truck came with 3.08 gears, and I have a 29" tire on the rear. Wheel hop is not a real concern ![]() You could have spring wrap (and wheel hop) concerns if you have a "real" motor and, and some decent gears. I will probably find that out in the next few months. With it set up as it is, the ride quality is good. The front is great, and would be even better if I had a bit more sidewall than a 40 series tire offers. The rear becomes a bit stiff at higher bag pressure. If I lower the rear pressure, it rides much better, but sits lower in the rear than the front. So the real answer is, it rides "good" set at a proper stance, but rides "better" set at a tail dragger stance. This could be corrected by removing the 2" block in the rear, but then it wouldn't go as low when I air it out. I prefer to compromise the ride a bit, in favor of sitting lower when "aired out"... ![]()

It works very well for the simplicity of the install. It could be returned to stock if need be as well.
If I were going with a higer hp motor (and I might), I would probably go with a 4 link.... |
