aluminum or steel driveshaft?
I am going to a one piece driveshaft(long story). I am going to cut one down and reweld the yoke, then get it balanced at a shop. My question is the local salvage yard has two really good condition shafts, one older steel about 3" diameter and one newer aluminum about a 4" shaft. They want 120 for the aluminum and 60 for the steel. I have a large lathe and can weld both myself. Is the aluminum worth the extra $$$.
