Jaguar V12. Which transmission?

I'm putting a Jaguar V12 into a 66 Suburban and have the transmission down to two choices. I'd like to have overdrive for the mileage and the V12 comes with a GM T400 but uses a Jaguar specific bellhousing bolt pattern. So I could keep the T400 and add a Gearvenders Overdrive or use an adapter plate to mount a 4L60e with a FAST EZ-TCU. Any body have any thoughts?

Third option (and the one I would take), adapter plate with TH700R4/4L60 (non E, no controller needed).

Re: Jaguar V12. Which transmission?

I would use an adapter plate with a 4L80E and an aftermarket controller.

Not sure which vintage v12 or your familiarity with them, but if you haven't already or don't know, replace the timing guides and tensioners now if they're oem. Aftermarket ones i don't think have the issues that the OEM ones did in the XJS series v12s.

Sorry.

Re: Jaguar V12. Which transmission?

Thanks for the ideas guys. I haven't decided which way to go but I'll figure it out.

Rian, Thanks for putting in the extra effort and posting the question in the UK.
