New radio suggestions?
Original uncut dash. I like the way the dash looks with an original stereo, and I listen to the radio all the time, I would also like to be able to plug in my iPod or iPhone for music. All I can seem to find is fancy digital MP3 Bluetooth stuff. Quite frankly I am not a fan of the fancy stuff. I want just an old style push button radio that I can plug devices into.. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Re: New radio suggestions?
I did this. I'm thinking about getting an old radio just to fill in the cutout.

Re: New radio suggestions?
Here, you can take a look at this too. This is what I think I'm going for in my build.

Re: New radio suggestions?
I did exactly what is noted by Kjdolphins and it works great. May not have all the bells and whistle's but for under 5 bucks at radio shack it fit the bill.

Re: New radio suggestions?
I was like you, not really caring about the fancy stuff and liking the old radio. I'm usually fine just listing to the news! But since I rewired my truck I really thought hard about sticking the old AM back in there. So I went the retro sound route. Now I can park a school bus behind my dash there is so much room freed up. The old AM is massive, and I have factory air. So, I put in the retro with their amp. Easy install and I mostly listen to the USB now.
I don't use many of the retro sounds features, phone and such. I still listen to news or sports AM and some FM but mostly old classics on my USB. I kept the old AM of course, it still worked fine. If I toss the retro sound I will still have my original working AM, which was import to me to keep that component unmolested.

Re: New radio suggestions?
I have had an aftermarket radio living in my glove box for years. I just use my phone, and bluetooth to the head unit. The phone controls volume, and what music is playing. I rarely have to open the glove box to mess with anything. I'm in the process of building a console and plan to hide the head unit in the console to get it out of the glovebox.

Re: New radio suggestions?
Nothing to add, but I really wish these things were around before I cut my dash. Back then a CD player that could play CD-RW disk was high tech and having a good stereo was a priority to me.
I suppose I can always weld in a patch one day. Its not like my truck is stock, but still.. its an eyesore.

Re: New radio suggestions?
Thanks guys for all the responses! What can anyone say about the "slide bar" am/fm stereo from brothers?

Re: New radio suggestions?
I believe that is a 'custom auto sound' unit ,, I'm not a fan . retrosound , is more costly , but a much better unit ,

Re: New radio suggestions?
One other thing about the Retrosound, you should get the amp also. I have the model2 also and it gets loud enough but does not sound too good. I got the quad4 amp right after I installed mine. It sounds good after that. It plugs right in and works fine. It's not top of the line sound equipment by any measure. Just some decent sound for a decent price and it all fits with room to spare!
