Pedal Cover Installation

I bought new rubber pedal covers from LMC. They are really tight and difficult to install. Is there a trick to it? I've only tried them dry, but my next attempt will be wet and soapy. Is that the ticket, or is there something else I should try?

Thanks!

Re: Pedal Cover Installation

GM or repop? My GM's installed OK dry. I did start with the wider section first and worked the edge around down both sides to the bottom.

Repop, I'd assume. They are the LMC ones, item #5 on page 50:

Re: Pedal Cover Installation

Iv'e always used a little dish washing soap or baby shampoo on all rubber parts, pedal covers, gas tank grommets, rubber pads etc.
Just enough to do the job. wipe away excess when done.

Re: Pedal Cover Installation

Use some 303 Aeropace Protectant, it will help the rubber pad slide on and it will also preserve the rubber.
