Now that I'm installing a posi in my truck everyone tells be to be carefull on wet streets. They say it will come around on me if I give to much gas.

Is this true, do any of you guys with posi's have any good advice for me.

If you have a high horsepower motor then you probably already have problems driving in the rain, especially when your taking off. It seemed to help my truck out when I put my posi in. Just be easy on the throttle taking off.

If you're careful you won't have a problem, but if you have a lead foot then it can and will come around on you. In time you will learn how to use it and be able to control it.

The advantage is that when both tires break loose on dry (or wet) pavement, they will wear evenly

I have had posi in my last two vehicles and it will come around on you if you get on it coming around corners. If you drive carefully - like you should on wet roads anyway - it won't be a problem. You will get used to it fast. I can whip my little go-kart-like Liberty around loose gravel and wet corners at will. The Silverado was a little harder to do, but still possible.

I 2nd that! You should try to drive on snow covered roads, now thats a challenge. Rain doesn't bother me in the slightest.

snow is extremely difficult. we used to live in pennsylvania. and when the roads ice over and your car is heavy your gonna slide. my mother used to have a 91 sub that used to be all over the road in the snow. needed a 4x4 i guess

I love driving in snow, except now that I have to drive in rush hour with all the idiots that don't know how to drive in snow, rain, wind, or even sunshine, it isn't as much fun. We had a big snow storm a few years ago and the roads were all blocked under about 2 ft of snow. I didn't know my work was closed so I got in my Z-71 and drove in to the office. Man, that was fun!!! No one on the roads, cruising down the freeway, 4 lanes to myself. Boy, I sure do miss the big truck....

Nothing is more fun than driving in snow. Once you get used to it, it is just routine.....

I am going to have winter tires on my Saturn this year. It'll be my first experiance with a front wheel drive in the snow. Last year I put 215/70/15 studded winter grips on my 2 wheel drive 80 Silverado. It would go through damn near anything. It was a blast when I first got the tires......scared the hell out of my mom going down the roads with the most snow I could find. Never got stuck once. I did get into my only accident on an icy road though, but I guess thats what happens when people run yield signs.

But anyhow, have fun with that posi............now you can smoke both tires!!!!!!

I can't wait till this winter in my new truck, well its an 85 but its new to me! It has a locker in the rear and i'm sure its going to be extra fun in the snow! Luckily its front wheels turn as well. I'll be having some fun in 2wd though lol. I haven't noticed any issues while driving in the rain with my locker, but I don't hit corners very hard in a 4x4 truck anyway. I'll find out what it acts like in a parking lot one day when its raining.
