inside frame fuel tank for sidepipes?

anyone installed a fuel tank inside the frame?

between the frame and driveshaft?

weve pondered the install of sidepipes to complete our 70s retro rig,

I cant see this really being safe without moving the side saddle tank inboard.
although ive seen pics of trucks in the 70s with sidepipes...

and Ive seen a few pics of where chevy actually mounted Ford Ranger tanks inboard

Just do the blazer/suburban tank swap like everyone else.

I seriously doubt GM did a ranger tank swap of any sorts. More likely it was a Billy Joe or Jim Bob who did that.

I vote this direction too.

Also, LMC makes a nice kit to relocated the tank to the rear as well.

GM considered it, probably fearful that the fedgov was going to force them to recall the trucks with the sidesaddle tanks
