Towing mirrors

I need to upgrade the motors on my 99 obs K2500. I'm looking at the standard manual pull out, power adjust style. From what I have found, there is at least 15 different options. Which ones are better and which ones should I stay away from? I also need to replace the heater control head. Is there and reason I couldn't install one for a Tahoe and use the rear defrost for the mirrors? Additional wiring required for that obviously. Thanks

Nick

Re: Towing mirrors

Btw, the mirrors that are heated have a different connector. The wires are not present in the door. You would have to run wires from the rear defrost circuit(if your truck has one) through the dash and out to each door. If you don't have rear defrost, you would need to run a switch and relay. It's a lot of work just to have heated mirrors.

Re: Towing mirrors

I figured that I would need to run the wires out to the mirrors. That's not really a big deal. Like I said earlier, I already have to replace the heater control so that would take care of the switch and relay part.
