Talking I "raced" a truck last night...

Sorry about the long story.

So I'll setup the scenario first. I'm with my girlfriend at about 7:30pm, and we're leaving a restaurant. We get to a stoplight and she's like there's a big red spider right behind you! So I turn around and start freaking out, and I'm trying to find something to kill it with. I grab my "Club" and try stabbing at it against my seat, so I don't know If I get it or not...

So the light turns green and I'm still wondering if I killed the spider, when I hear someone rev up at me. I look over and see a 73-80 stlye Fleetside at the light waiting to make a left. So I slow down to let him catch up.

So at the next light I'm going to make a left, he gets right behind me and starts revving even more. When the light turns green I take off pretty fast to see if he'll catch up. (We turned onto a 3 lane expressway where the speed limit is like 45 mph, so it's not too bad that I'm going fast...)

He catches up so I drop it down to 2nd and we go at it for a short distance. He pulled on me good though... Now at this time of night there are still a lot of cars on this particular street so he changes a couple of lanes and get ahead of me, while I'm stuck behind some cars.

After awhile I catch back up to him and was able to get a good look at his truck. It was nice! He had like 18's all around and it was slammed. I could see from behind that he had like traction bars or something on the leaf springs, other than that it sounded pretty mean too.

So like I said I catch up and we're next to each other but just crusing, waiting for one of us to make a move, when he starts revving a little so I do it back... Then we went at it again for a little distance, again he pulled ahead on me bad, he was fast!

So after that he was going to make a left and I was going straight, so he revs up one last time and I rev back and give him the thumbs up...

Even though he was faster, I don't feel bad about it, at least it was to another Chevy right? and It sure got my adrenaline pumping, Scared my girlfriend sh!tless though

street racing is bad, mmm k? There now I said it so nobody else needs too, cause I know someone was going to say it seriously sooner or later.

With that said, good job! Scaring the girlfriend with street racing is a hobby of mine

I sure wished there was another C10 locally that would race me! ALL the C10's locally that are fixed up, are 81+, so they're all gutless 305's, and WILL NOT race me based upon the SOUND of my truck. LOL

I want to race too, but at the track I always get next to some Fbody or old camaro that runs 12's. I want a HEMI!! I'm pretty sure I could beat one.

If your 14.xx is consistant, then you should be able to take a stock regular cab Hemi Dodge. According to the recent article in Sport Truck mag, they are a mid 15 second truck.

I got an old Ford I'll run ya with....

Cool! Next time your around Houston, let me know. Right now, it might be a close race. If I ever get off my butt, and get all the goodies I have on my shelf installed, then the story would be a bit different...

Nice, I like it. But I think the only way I'll ever get my truck to Houston is if I trailer it. If you are ever in Baton Rouge, look me and we can go at it. BTW, is that your house? What do you do for a living?

More than likely if I am out on the road, I'll be in another truck. I try to keep the miles off of that one. Right now I have had it about a year and a half, and it only has 1600 miles on it. Since they only made two years of supercharged Harley trucks, I am hoping the value will start to increase.

Yes, that is my house. I own a company that operates arcade video games on commercial locations....

My friend and I raced a rice boy one day, his was all stock with a fart pipe of course. His little engine was whining all the way up and my friend had the throttle about 3/4 open, probably just enough to open the secondaries. Rice boy got smoked. Oh ya and did I mention this was while he still had the Q-Jet and stock cam? We put a road demon on and a XE262 cam. Its much faster now. Also replaced the torker 2 with a performer. This is all on a 350 engine in a Z28 camaro. Not a truck I know. I want to find me a emissions exempt shortbed 2wd that I can turn into a street machine. My 406 would go perfect in it! Also I could rebuild the th350 thats laying around right now. Have to convert it to non-lockup though.

My family has been in that same business for 40 years. What is the name of yours down there? One of my uncles owns the Wurlitzer Jukebox distributor in Oregon and operates a video game route and another one has a very large video game route also in Oregon.

I think between the two of them they have like 12 73-87 trucks and probably around 50 vehicles. Old or cool new cars and trucks seem to go hand in hand with video games, vending machines, jukeboxes and pool tables.

My wife drives a 2003 Dodge Crew Cab with the Hemi. Yeah it's a great truck for sure. It's got the 3.90 rear end that will get up and go. Only thing is the gas mileage sucks in that thing. But one good thing is I can say I've got two trucks with 300+HP in the driveway
