Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner

I have line on this original dual snorkel air cleaner. The seller claims it from a 1970 GTO and said he had to have his adult daughter post the pics for him. He claims its from a 70 GTO and the carb hole is 5 inches in diameter. Will this go on my 72 C10 with a 350 and original quadrajet.

the Quadrajets had the same air cleaner diameter .the Rochester 4jet was the odd sized air cleaner diameter. as for the size and snorkels????

Im sure it would fit but looks newer than a 70 to me .

looking at this I'm thinking it might hit my A/C compressor?

If you are running factory type HEI it may not clear.

Look for an 80s caprice at the junkyard. I remember seeing more than a few ex cop cars that had large dual snorkels on them. Cars also came with an electronic Qjet so it should fit on there. I cant remember what the dizzy looked like so it may have been a small body HEI like the ones used on TBI motors or a large body distributer. Been to long since I have seen them to remember.

A lot of later dual snorkel units might fit but even in their original application they didn't sit even on the engine, they were rotated. So it's not like you get one snorkel at 2 o'clock and the other at 10.

Of course even if that's true the alignment tab could be removed from the base.

The dual snorkel breather on my 72 fits on the stock riser /spacer .

looks like one to me. i'd be concerned about HEI also, if you have it. Not as concerned about a/c. Notice it's centered symmetrically, but I'd want to on a truck. I still think it would clear a/c, but I can see why it would get your attn before buying (a/c concern)

Thanks for the help and suggestions. This particular air cleaner was a 2 hour drive from home and the guy wanted 200.00 for it. I decided to pass on this one but will keep looking. I actually would prefer an air cleaner with the shorter horns as I am pretty sure there would be no clearance problems with it. The stock points distributor is still in the truck but I have new Petronix distributor to go in the truck and I think its no bigger than the original.

Thanks for the tip on RockAuto. They really do have everything there. Yep looked it up 168.00 for brand new short arm dual snorkel air cleaner from Goodmark for a 72 350 Camaro which should let me hook up all my emission stuff.

I bought one not long ago. Check out the air filter as well. They have a close out Fram Air Hog oiled cotton gauze K&N style filter for it for $2. Yes, $2. I think I bought 10 of them myself. $20 for 10 14x3 air filters will be a lifetime supply even with all the cars I have.
