1968 Chevy Truck New Ignition HELP
I bought all new ignition parts and I'm trying to get the new cylinder to seat in the new ignition, but it wont go. I've already installed it in the dash. I know I"m missing a simple step somewhere. Thanks for any help.

Re: 1968 Chevy Truck New Ignition HELP
you have to put the cylinder into the ignition switch before you install it into your dash, the cylinder will not go past the bezel once installed.

Darn the bad luck. It seems I'm doing everything twice putting it back together. Thank you for the information.

Quote:
The ignition switch with ignition switch spacer must be placed behind the dash, then the ignition switch bezel should be screwed onto the ignition switch and fully tightened completely. Then with the key in the ignition lock cylinder place it into the ignition switch and turn clockwise, then turn to off position to remove the key and then reconnect your battery cable which should have been removed before removing the original switch and your done.
