Anyone in Modesto area?

That would be willing purchase and ship a fender to Texas? They want $125 for the fender but want $400 to ship it.

I did. They are just trying to gouge me because they know I need it. They originally said $185 shipped then $275, then $365, then $400 but it can be picked up locally for $125.

They are wanting $275 to ship it. I am wanting to send someone the $125 to purchase it and pay to ship it. They are just trying to stick it to me on shipping.

Re: Anyone in Modesto area?

not taking sides here, but is it possible they are just realizing how much effort would be involved? it takes a lot of time to properly pack a large item, then the risk if it gets damaged.

I fully realize it is a pain but it just seemed excessive to me. I may end up going thru with the deal.

I realize time is not free as well but those shipping charges are excessive considering they will still ship in a cardboard box. I just had hoped a fellow member of the community would help a brother out. It looks like that is not the case. I will handle it myself. Karma will find the seller.

Re: Anyone in Modesto area?

I think he was saying he doesn't have much free time.
but I think you read it as he wants to be compensated for his time.

Turlock to Modesto is like 15 miles which to me is nothing.

if you find one is LA/OC/SD id be glad to help out

Re: Anyone in Modesto area?

Have you tried the Tyler Craigslist? I saw several fenders, hood and cab about a week ago.

Yes sir. I actually had that dark olive truck in my driveway. I got the seat and front bumper but the truck was not original paint. I am looking for dark olive original paint fenders with no upper trim.

Re: Anyone in Modesto area?

I didn't realize you were trying to find a matching original paint. That kind of limits your options. Me personally, I won't deal with someone that keeps changing the price like that.
One thing to coincided, have you priced how much it would cost to buy a fender locally, then find some one who could paint it to match? You may find that the sellers shipping charges are cheaper in the long run. Just a thought.
