another stupid criminal!
Well I run a chain of Verizon Wireless privately owned cellular stores and this morning a guy comes in and wants to upgrade his phone to one of the new camera models I carry. Well the sales associate in my store had some more customers come in, he walked over to tell them he would be right with them and the guy he was talking to walked out.
The sales associate looked on the self and one of the camera phones was missing, well the guy had left all his information(phone number. home address, etc). The sales associate then calls the guy and asked where the phone was. His reply was"I guess I shouldn't have done that. He agreed to return the phone. 30 min. later the guy returned to the store, to be cuffed and procecuted. Everything is back in order now, phone back on the shelf, criminal in jail.

Lol.....reminds me of another shoplifting story....
About two years ago i worked at an Alco (like small wal mart). One night, this suspicous looking guy came with a package of darts he wanted to return, but he had no reciept. So, they let him file a no-reciept refund. To get a now reciept refund, they take down you driver's lisence number, DOB, phone number, SSN, and address. I got a pretty good look at the guy. Later that evening the same guy came into the store, and by the way he walked and looked around i knew he was gonna steal something. So i followed close behind him and watched him walked up to the condom shelf. He couldn't see me, but i saw him snatch two packs of Trojans, then walk out of the store (i couldn't stop him, i wasn't a manager). He had a friend with him, and on the way out his friend looked at me and said "He's embarrassed". Needless to say, he was prosecuted......don't steal from a store that you just gave all your personal information to

Just 2 nights ago a funny thing happened....
Let me tell you about the two geniuses who tried to steal a John Deere blacktop sealer machine...by strapping it to the bumper of their Toyota 4X4 and dragging it off a worksite.
They lost it in the street front of my house when the straps finally broke. I wish I had seen them when they were pulling it...I'm sure it was all over the road! But the real kicker is that the machine was a HYDRO driven type...and the hydro pumps were ENGAGED while they were pulling it! No wonder the straps broke...and I'm surprised that they didn't smoke the engine and trans in the ricer...especially since the machine had over 100 gallons of blacktop sealer in the tank! Thank God it didn't swerve into oncoming traffic along the way...although they had to be going pretty darn slow with the hydros engaged on the machine. They (hydro pumps) are probably toast now..... I heard the racket when it cut loose, ran outside, got the tag # and description, then called (and waited) for the cops. It was almost dark when it happened (so I got no pics) but I pulled my truck out into the street behind it and hit the flashers....as it was sitting just over the crest of a hill...just right for someone to smash into it. What is really crazy: About 20 minutes after they lost the machine...THEY CAME BACK DOWN THE STREET...but when they saw me there with my flashers on they pulled into a driveway, turned around, and headed back in the direction they came from....AND PASSED THE FIRST COP WHO WAS RESPONDING TO MY CALL!!! This is on a rather short street so when the cop pulled up, I pointed at the guys going SLOWLY up the road and said: "There goes your morons." He radioed the backup officers (who were just up the street too) and they nabbed the suckers. They had the morons in cuffs before the wrecker showed up to get the machine.............heard it all on the first responding officers radio........... Perfect candidates for "America's Dumbest Criminals". Last edited by SLS; 09-25-2003 at 08:58 PM. |

another one
Our company buys the coils of steel you see on the flat beds. Anyway one of the flatbeds broke down flat tire or something. A couple real geniuses came along in their P/U truck backed up to the trailer and thought they would roll the coil to their waiting truck. They were able to unchain it and roll it to the truck once it hit the truck it just flattened it. These coils weigh about 40,000 + pounds.

When I was still in the Navy we had a couple of guys do a "Dine and dash" at Hooters. Before they left the restaraunt without paying the tab, they filled out some raffle tickets for a car. (All 4 of them) with there names, and what ship they were stationed on. Hooters manager was waiting on the ships quarterdeck when they returned.
