Newbie wanting to show off

Hello folks, I've been lurking around awhile while searching for a squarebody to relive my childhood.

A little back story....

These are the trucks I grew up on. I've probably owned 10 trucks in the 73-87 range, but havent had one in 25 years.

Started a search recently to find a "new" ranch truck. After a fairly extensive search lasting several months, and more than a few miles looking at trashed out, over priced relics needing a ton of work I finally settled on one and couldnt be happier. (well I could, but that would entail finding a long, stepside bed)

1984 3/4 ton, 4x4. Fresh carpet and seat (covered by the saddleblanket seat cover) original 350 that runs great, SM465, A/C truck, everything works except the factory oil pressure gauge. I may ditch the aftermarket one and try to get that going again. I'm the 3rd owner.

Found it in the upper panhandle of TX and drove it 436 miles south. (on 2005 model bias ply tires, now gone) Truck runs great. A few dents, dings and scratches but original paint.
Been driving it around a few weeks now, absolutely love the truck, only added new tires and the cupholder. Dont know that it needs much else.

Great to be back in a square body. This may be my mid-life crisis vehicle.

Sweet. Nice score, and I love the look! I grew up in the panhandle, and that truck looks like a lot of the trucks that were running around there back in the day. Perfect ranch truck.

I like that. It's got a good look to it, wish I had found one that close, drove one back from Oregon in December, that was fun, 2000 miles and 4.10's ...

I'm not far from Clifton, we like Red Caboose ..

Cool! 1984 K20 Custom Deluxe with 4 headlights. Most of coarse, had single headlight.

I like the panhandle. Spent a good bit of time in various parts. Spent a year working the feedyards in Gruver not far from you, that wasnt one of my favorites.....

Sweet truck. Are those 285's on it? Looks good with the big tires and hub caps.

Love it. Always liked the flat beds. Those wheels are really narrow for a 285 series tire, no?

Re: Newbie wanting to show off

WOW! It even came with a dog. Now THAT'S a good deal!!

I had to do a double take because a few years ago, I owned a brown three quarter 4x4 with the same tranny and engine combo. But mine had the fleetside bed and didn't have the cattle bumper. Mine even had the four headlight option and the same wheel covers with white rims.

Been running that combo for awhile. Just have to watch that you dont overdo the airpressure.
