Under bed gas tank relocation

I've decided to relocate my 1968 C10 behind the seat gas tank to underneath the bed. I have seen many different options available and also many threads discussing this. My question is, is there a kit that doesn't require welding? Also prefer the kit to have everything needed and will allow me to just come up through the bed (flush, not sticking up to far) to fill it? Looking for simple and easy.

Have you looked at the Boyds tanks. I have one but have not installed it yet. You can do a Goggle search for Boyds Welding.

There are a couple threads on here for using a 69 Camaro tank. I'm in the process of doing the exact same thing and I'm going this route. You only have to drill a few holes in the spare tire crossmember (for the metal strapping). You'll have to buy some 2"x3" square tubing to use as spacers and then cut a hole behind the license tag and buy a flip-down bracket for the tag. you'll then fill the tank behind the tag. I've seen this done only in pictures here on the forum, but I'm going to take a stab at it. Another good thing is the factory Camaro sending unit reads the same ohm rating as our trucks so it'll work the gauge properly too! Good luck with your decision! There are too many options, but I believe this is one of the cheapest.

These guys have an excellent complete bolt in gas tank designed for 68-72 trucks. Its not cheap but excellent quality and the customer service at Early Classic Enterprises is superb.

You can also use a 73-86 Blazer tank. It will require some modification and some creativity as far as where your filler neck will go. Personally that's half the fun for me. You can get a tank, straps and sending unit for about $150 through Rock Auto.

I used the under bed kit from LMC. Here is a shot from the rear of mine, sorry it's the only one I have here at work....

Thanks for the feedback. I'll probably just go with an LMC top fill tank since I have seen a lot of board members go with the LMC tanks.

Snipescastle2, is yours a top fill or a side fill?

Also, my cab tank only had the fuel line and 1 wire that hooked up to the sending unit, is that all that I will need to connect to the under the bed tank as well?

I bought CPP's steel tank and love it!

Fits perfectly between the frame rails, no welding and they have the flush fill option. Check out my build thread and you can see it with no bed

When I redid my '71 4x4 I got my under bed tank from GMC Paul. Great customer service. Have had it below the bed for 8-9 years now, no problems and like it there. Frees up storage behind the seat. Put my fuel fill port on the left hand side rear wheel tub inside the bed. Get some funny looks when pumping gas into the truck bed, LOL.
