Looking for leaf spring advice/options/recomendations.

Ive been restoring my 71 c 20 for awhile now and its getting close to going back on the road soon. It has a stake body dump on it and I've been running dual wheels for years and just did the bud wheel conversion on the front as well. I want it to be more like a C30 although I know the frame would have been beefier. I want to beef up the rear springs and wonder what other have done and or would recommend. Right now it has the 5 and 1 leaf setup but only the 2 1/4 wide. I have another truck that has 2 1/4 leafs and was thinking about getting new U and center bolts and just doubling the leaf stack with both sets so it would be 9 or 10 with the heavy dead leaf on the bottom still. Also thought about changing to 2 1/2 inch wide but I figure Ill have to change to frame hangers too? Lastly I thought about adding a helper stack to the top but then Ill need to add some brackets for them to hit on the frame as well. Someone else I know says don't mess with the springs but throw in some air bags to beef up the weight. I don't know what would be best but adding the extra leafs I have is probably the cheapest way to go. Advice please?

Air bags don't affect ride quality as much, i would call around to local spring places to see what is offered..

I know but the guy at the spring place just wants to sell you new stuff. Was hoping for some ideas and thought from some people who may have already done this and specifically from guys that are expert on these particular trucks. I may wind up with all new parts but I have lots of truck parts and if it works would like to make something out of what I have.

Two more forums where leaning toward heavy duty stuff and possibly more knowledge base? Might try posting the question there?
