350 motor mounts
So I recently purchased a 64 short wide. Boy it needs a lot of work but $300 bucks was a good deal. At least I think. My problem is I got a good 350 I wanna put in but air transportation sure which mounts I need. Their no mounts on their right now so where can I pick up a pair? I'd like a new set. I don't really wanna get some of ebay. Thanks for any help

are you saying you don't have the frame mounts that hold the motor mounts.Well you might be better off then me i bought a 1964 short bed Fleet side for 2500.00 But the body is straight straight tail gate.But i hated the small window so i traded a 3/4 ton that was a camper special for mine I own both trucks but sold the truck a year later and he wanted the big window.
So i got my big window with my new cab and core bushing support bolted fore free YAA Here have a look this is before i had the cab swapped.Been driving a 1965 with a small window for 20 years wanted a small window for the short bed |

No mounts what so ever. Only the cross member that goes accross. I'm new to this body and got a lot to learn

I;m looking to see if i have any pics of the motor frame mounts you need EBAY is your best bed or Craigslist
I will take better pics tomorrow when i get home I only have 1 truck that dose not have a motor in it but i will give you somthing to look at now but they will be better tomorrow |

If you want to use the original style engine mounts, you will need the frame brackets from a '63-'66 with a 230/250 I6 or a V8, or from a '67-'72 with a 230/250 I6. The engine mount itself can be purchased at your local auto parts store. '63-'72 with any I6 or small block V8. If you can not find the frame brackets locally, check the '60-'66 classifieds here on the forum. These would be the easiest if you are staying with a manual trans.
If you are converting to an auto trans and want a better engine mount, you will need the frame brackets from a '73-'87 C20 or C30. Then you will also need the engine mounts themselves plus the upper part often referred to as a 'clamshell'

Ok so will the frame brackets outta a 79 k10 work, or does it have to be the c10 brackets

The K series engine mount brackets are a completely different animal.......4wd versus 2wd.
As I stated above, you want the brackets from a '73-'87 C20 or C30. Those will fit the early frames better than the brackets from a '73-'87 C10. Quote:
