I'm sure it's been asked before...
But I figured I'd ask again. Curious as to what the differences in a 61 k10 frame and a 61 c10 frame. Buying a short bed and have a 61 longbed four wheel drive all factory, and was seeing if I could bolt my 4wheel drive stuff up to that short bed frame or what it would take..always wanted a short bed four wheel drive. So if anyone knows what it'll take to put the four wheel drive stuff on the two wheel drive frame go ahead and post. Thanks

You would be better off cutting the 4x4 frame down to a short bed. The 61 2wd frame is totally different.

the k10 frames are similar to the 64-66 and the 60-62 1 ton frames ladder type.

The c10 frame is an x-frame and the and k10 frame is ladder frame.
c10 frame has coil spring rear springs while k10 frame has leaf springs in the rear. In my opinion you would be better off cutting the k10 frame down to a short bed.

I just picked up a '62 K10 long-bed step-side. It's EXACTLY the truck I was looking for! Long fleet just doesn't have the right proportions.
Apparently, the factory 4x4s are pretty rare. -Brad

Wel it would be my 61 Apache k10 that I'd be using but I'd hate to cut the frame down and whatnot. Just one of those wild ideas that I came across while looking at them
