8-lug wheel question

So I've been looking through all the 8-lug wheel threads and can't find a clear answer to this. Would these wheels and caps work on a 71 3/4 ton? They are described as 16.5" OEM wheels from a 77 3/4 ton Chevy. Anyone know if there's any difference in the backspacing or if the caps would fit? I know they aren't the correct caps, but if they'd fit I figure they'd work while I keep my eye out for the correct ones.

Re: 8-lug wheel question

If you have the hub that stick out like a 4x4 does The caps won't fit over the rear hub. I have those same caps they are sitting in a box in my garage because they wouldn't fit

That's what I suspected, but thought I'd ask. Thanks!

Re: 8-lug wheel question

I went to www.hubcaps.com to get a set that would fit. They have the right caps but I bought after market wheels instead

Re: 8-lug wheel question

16.5" is challenging to find tires for. There are new tires out there, but your choices are severely limited and prices are going up.
