Re: 18 inch Torque Thrust 2s backspacing on 68
Zero offset rims typically work well on these trucks. A good tape is your friend. My truck has 17's and not 18's but fronts are 17x8 with 4.5" bs and rear is 17x9 with 5" bs. Also important to note that my truck has a 5 lug conversion with the wider 70-72 axle housing. This effects backspacing in the rear.
Backspacing is measured from the inside edge of the wheel to the mounting surface. Wheel width is measure between the beads. Therefore an 8" rim is 9" outside to outside and 4.5" in from the outside puts the mounting surface at the centerline of the wheel. It is then "zero" or no offset from that line. So backspacing will depend on the width rim you get which will depend on what tire size you want to run. On a stepside, you are limited in the rear. On my truck, 235 55 17 in the front and 275 55 17 rear. And that only works because of the 72 axle I installed.
