Unhappy Rolled my truck yesterday!!

My truck isn't too straight any more. I was going to pass a farm tractor after just leaving my house, and he must not have seen me as he started to make a left hand turn into the corn field on the opposite side of the road. So I jumped on the brakes, (a little too hard) and I spun around and hit the ditch on the left side of the road and flipped over once. My brother looked at it and said all I should really need is a new cab, as the rest of it isn't too bad. Bad thing is, I fractured a vertebre in my back, so now I'm in a back brace that feels like I'm wearing body armor. I was thinking about selling the truck, but my brother says it shouldn't be too hard to fix. He got it running last night, and drove it around a little bit. I bent one rim, but I have another set of tires and rims that I can put on her. Anyone from down south know of any good sources for rust-free bodies? I'm probably just going to put her in the garage for the winter and start working on her next spring. This really sucks because that truck was my baby.

Sorry to hear about your truck. Take it easy for a while, your truck can be replaced, your back can't.

I'm with Randy...I know it hurts to see the truck bent, but your back is a serious wound. I've lived with a bad back for 28 years now, and I don't wish that on you!! You are on the right track with leaving it till spring, so just take care of yourself, and we'll all be here to help with the truck's recovery when it's time. Take care.

Hope you get better soon, take care of that back. You can find a cab later on and get it back to what it use to be. Just take care of the injury first, Good Luck, TJ

That Sucks !

I went to pass a guy going pretty slow and turned right in front of me No signal nothing. I swirved to the right and slammed the brakes on destroyed the front clip on my 87 Burban. And I got the ticket. I am aways really careful driving now. If I did'nt swirve I would have hit his drivers door doing 80 km. He would have been in rough shape.

Sorry about the accident. at least you are still alive.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have wished me well. It is nice to hear from you all, even though we've never met. That's one thing I like about this board. Everyone here is really cool. I was thinking about selling the truck, but my dad said I probably wouldn't get that much for it seeing as it is messed up. It is still driveable, provided you don't mind bugs in your teeth. Hahaha. My brother drove it around after he got it started, and said that everything seems to be alright with the drivetrain. He had to replace the distributor cap, as the one on it was broken. I am worried that maybe I broke a motor mount or something. I will have to give it a good look over after I get healed up. Is it very hard to change the cab? I have never done anything like that before. Hopefully I will be able to find a good rust-free body from somewhere down south that I can have sent up here. Like I said, thanks for all the concern, it is greatly appreciated.
