Exhaust Flange Bolt Replacement

What's up guys -

I have a small exhaust leak on my truck. It seems to be coming from one of the exhaust flanges and also from the closest cylinder to the firewall from block to exhaust manifold, unless my ears are deceiving me. I have attached some photos below.

When I went to tighten up the four bolts to the two flanges, I noticed two of them were stripped. Is this a one piece assembly? (Bolt is permanently on the thread?) Regardless, where can I purchase this part?

I also noticed that the first and last bolt to the exhaust manifold to the block looks to be broken off. (pictures below) Is this how they come or is something that happened overtime? There is no exhaust leak from front, only from back. Thanks in advance!

-Nick

By the way, this is an inline 6 in a 1964 C10. 250ci block from nova, original 230ci heads. First two pictures are the exhaust flanges. Third picture is front cylinder, last picture is rear cylinder.

Someone has been trying to quiet that down! See all that crap between/around the head and the manifold? That shouldn't be there. Pull the manifold, check it for being flat, clean everything, get a good gasket, and put it back together.

Re: Exhaust Flange Bolt Replacement

The guy I bought it from put that stuff everywhere. I prefer gaskets just because ease of changes since I know it's gonna take a lot of effort taking all that gunk off. But I will do that. If it is not flat, I guess I should take it to a machine shop or is that something a exhaust shop can do as well?

Re: Exhaust Flange Bolt Replacement

Anyone know where I could get the four studs/bolts for the exhaust flange pictured above? I want to replace those before I take off the exhaust manifold.

I'd replace the pins with studs. Get some good vice grips and twist them out!

Yep. They are threaded. They can be tough to get out but they will come out.

Re: Exhaust Flange Bolt Replacement

Update:

I fixed the exhaust leak this morning. I soaked the threads on the exhaust flange assembly with PB blaster and replaced the stud and nuts for the flange on the exhaust. Fixed the exhaust leak; may need to tighten them again in a week.
