Value on 70 blazer find

Any ideas what this might be worth. Just under 20K miles on it. Appears to 100% original and judging by the club on it, was running when parked.

Re: Value on 70 blazer find

Its not 100% original - Minor things but the mirrors, upper trim, bumper guards & two-tone top paint aren't original. The AC is aftermarket but could be dealer installed. That said, it looks like it is solid and unmolested. I would bet that a good polishing would bring that paint back to life. Throw on some dog-dish hub caps and you'd have a sweet ride.

If it is 20K and rust free, it would be worth some $. You should start low giving it looks bad covered in dust and be ready to go up. If it runs & drives, I'd expect around $5-6K.

Re: Value on 70 blazer find

Interesting...I was wondering about the same things as I haven't seen bumper guards, tow mirrors or upper trim on any other 2wd blazer. I just don't know enough about original options packages. I'm gonna go check it out this weekend. $6k only? I've seen rusted out shells and conversions go for that. From the pics, it looks like it could be polished up nicely. We'll see. Thanks for the response.

No rust and running, $9-11K . Ask about the airstream parked beside it, I would love to have that to pull behind my 69 Suburban.....

RB,

If you don't end up buying it, I would be interested in talking to the owner about it.

Re: Value on 70 blazer find

Didn't even notice it was 2wd. Probably $7-9K if the current owner has any clue what they have. They didn't make many 70 2wds.

~900 2wd made in 1970. This example looks clean. I'd grab that! What's the asking price?

Re: Value on 70 blazer find

That is a truck that if you are very careful, you can buy it, polish it up, and drive it. It's so tempting to fall into the trap where you start rebuilding the brakes, then you fix the leaking axle seal, but when you pull that out you decide to just rebuild the axle, and then new springs, then might as well freshen up the frame, and all of a sudden the thing is taking up 4 garage stalls.
Buy it, wash it, change all the fluids and get it running, check the brakes out, put tires on it, wax it, and drive it.

I'd pay more than $6k all day if it's not rusted...

I'd say at least $10,000 but of course would hope to get it for a lot less.

Re: Value on 70 blazer find

That's 10k all day long here in ca. Have you seen what drivers in good shape go for. I would jump on that and just make sure it's a real 2wd and not converted. I see a lot of them on CL but always converted.

Re: Value on 70 blazer find

I stumbled across that Blazer on the internet a few days ago. I don't remember the website it was on, but if I remember correctly it is going to be auctioned off along with another clean Ochre Blazer and some other old cars. Good luck on getting it. I would be curious to see what it goes for.

Also means four wheel drum, 71 introduced disc brakes and five lug on the two wheel drive. Four wheelers still had the six lug

It's not converted as it is VIN correct. 100% original less the aforementioned items. Clean as they come...#912 of 9??

Are you still bidding on it? If not, would you post a link?

Re: Value on 70 blazer find

Well, I must say this is a bummer for me as I have been watching this blazer for the last 4 months hoping to buy it. It was owned by a corvette collector who was a Dr. He passed away and they are auctioning all his items. I thought I would get a good price. So much for that. Now it will be interesting to see how high it goes. I could be mistaken but I think it was ordered from Chevy with these options. My belief is it is very rare.
