Re: Finally got my 406 back!

Do you mind sharing the specs on the 406? I've had a never rebuilt 400 sitting on a stand for years that I swear I will build some day so always interested in what other people are doing with them.

It ran 11.99 at 4160lbs before, so around 480-500 depending on which calculator you use.

But never been on a dyno.

Love it! Hate to bombard you with questions but, what is that rear tire size, wheel width, and backspacing?

That's the look I am after.

No worries, 15x10 3.5 bs but... should have been. 4.5 bs had to do surgery to fit the 325-50 drag radial

Re: Finally got my 406 back!

Well it's in, and time for the it's and bit's.

New transmission crossmember went in decent.

Finally got the new converter and new th400 together.
It's the last transmission my friend Rudy built for me before he passed, feels weird.
Had it since '08 as my spare.

Truck looks great, your crew chief looks young but won't take too long before being behind the wheel.

The converter looks stout , what's the rated stall, and what's the rear gear ?

Billet front half 3200 ish nitrous converter

And has a 3.82 gear in it.
So far is way more efficient than the tci steel fighter that was in it.

Hope so, was doing 1.67-69 60' before.
Worried I've hurt the 60' n/a but real curious how big of a shot it'll take out of the hole.

Re: Finally got my 406 back!

Testing my patience.
Slip yoke was dripping, tried pulling the driveshaft out. Had to pry it off.
Turns out I burned the tailshaft bushing up running it on the rack with rear off the truck up.
And the drive line was too long, got that all fixed.
And back to the tuning.

That photo of the sunset in your rear view mirror is GORGEOUS!! It has a lot of emotion and mood. You have a good photographic eye.

Are you running caltrac's? I can't remember what you're doing to make that thing hook. Congrats on getting it going again.
