Need a lil HELP - 250 engine power steering bracket photos.

Guys,

I'm slightly confused on which brackets I need to install power steering on ol goldilocks. She has a 1968 250 engine. Learned last week in a car show parking lot that manual steering is terrible.

I know there are several different types. I've used the search function, which even confused me a lil more.

Please post some photos of your set ups and brackets if possible.

Also any details such as gearbox, hoses, pulley set ups, etc, and part numbers if you have them.

Thanks everyone in advance for any help.

I have finally acquired all the correct ps parts for my 250, I'm in the process of cleaning and painting but I've saved these pics.

Here are the 250 bracket pictures I have. If at all possible get the complete setup from one truck and it's a real bonus if you can take it off....

Where did you find the brackets at?

They show up on the parts boards on here from time to time. I picked one of my sets up at my local salvage yard.

Re: Need a lil HELP - 250 engine power steering bracket photos.

I have a set that looks somewhat like the second post by lockdown but my pulleys don't line up correctly. Do I have the wrong brackets? Or can the pump be shimmed back. About 1/2 pulley off.

I don't know if it can be shimmed back or not. I would say you have the wrong pulleys. That is why it is so important to get all of the parts off of the same truck.....

Re: Need a lil HELP - 250 engine power steering bracket photos.

I believe the ones Leon showed are for the later style pump that has a more squared off reservoir, which is the style I currently have. I definitely agree on getting everything off the same vehicle.

Excellent photos. I'm looking at one just like it now. Your WP and crank pulleys are different than mine.
