Removing cab AND front clip at at once. Has anyone done it?
I'm only looking for factual input from those who have tried it...NO OPINIONS PLEASE.. I have removed MANY cabs, beds and front clips but I have NEVER tried to remove a cab with the front clip minus hood attached to it. I will be using a 2 post lift probably supporting ONLY the cab with the lift and the front clip with 2 men. The weight of the fenders, inners, grille and support is not that much but will it put unnecessary strain on the mounting points of the clip to the body? I am planning of lifting, rolling the old frame out, rolling the new frame in and setting it down.
Has anyone tried it?

Re: Removing cab AND front clip at at once. Has anyone done it?
My body guy did this but in reverse, he put the front clip & cab onto my chassis in this manor !
As you can see in the picture he suported the front clip with the lift also, this way there was no undue stress, eveything was suported evenly ! Hope this helps ! Gary

I did it with a chain fall, 4 straps, and one person.
Shouldn't be too hard to figure out with 4-6 people. Race dually T |

I have not done it with this body style but the newer ones with the back arms on the rockers and the front ones on the fenders. I even did one once that I didn't break the a/c lines and kept the Freon charge. You most certainly can do that front and cab together. Jim

yep. and all by my self. stripped the cab to the point where it was light enough to simply roll off the frame to one side. neighbors came out to watch, only one came out to help. and all he did was film me doing it befor he helped. go figure.

Re: Removing cab AND front clip at at once. Has anyone done it?
Wow, you have made quick work of that! Awesome. Did you have any support under the front end when you lifted it? Or just the 4 points under the cab.

Re: Removing cab AND front clip at at once. Has anyone done it?
I had 2 guys up front when we removed it BUT it was not needed because we left the inner fenders in it. I did later remove the passenger side inner fender and you could tell it gave a little but at that point we were setting it down on the Dodge frame and we supported it immediately with cut to length pieced of 4x4's/.
